Community Groups that meet at The Center A number of Community Groups also call The Center Orange County home, some have been meeting here for many years. Check out the descriptions of the groups and join in! Contact information is also provided. Please note that regular schedules are indicated here and that they are subject to change. BEING ME Being Me, a peer discussion group, confronts issues that are important for any Transgender person or a loved one to understand about themselves. An example of discussions we have conducted in the past center around our feelings of loss, victories, guilt, and societal acceptance or denial of us. Being Me is a transition group as well as a group that deals with inner development of the person that allows and encourages self exploration during the transition journey. Contact: OCFTM (OC Female-to-Male) Moving beyond the boxes and away from the labels, come join us as we explore the gender continuum and natural expression of ourselves as a varied and diverse group of people, just being who we are. This meeting is open and welcomes all -- except nontrans minors. This is a loose, "rap" style gathering that offers transmen and others a chance to network, share experiences, socialize, access resources and get updates on current female-to-male transsexual/transgender community activities and information. This is a fully inclusive atmosphere that invites anyone of female-bodied masculine-identification to attend. Meetings will tend to focus on transman and post-transitional issues. Family and significant others are welcome to attend! Some sessions may be somewhat restricted, however based on the needs of the group the subject matter of the evening. Special Note: Light munchies will be provided and additional contributions are welcomed. There is no membership fee or charge; however donations to THE CENTER are appreciated for the use of the facility. OCFTM meets the fourth Sunday of every month at The Center. Contact:
Women's Focus is a peer-facilitated group of Lesbian and Bisexual women, which is open to all women and meets every Monday night at The Center O.C. topics are set in advance and a different volunteer facilitates each week. This is a safe place to meet and interact with women who hace common interests. Chek out our calendar for their current schedule.
